On 22 May 1856, Charles Sumner (R-MA) gave an anti-slavery speech entitled “The Crime Against Kansas.” When Sumner finished and was returning to his seat, Preston Brooks, a Democratic congressman from South Carolina, attacked Sumner with his cane and beat him so severely Sumner nearly died. Brooks’ vicious attack demonstrated the growing self-righteous hatred and intolerance of the Democratic South for anyone who disagreed with their socio-political goals.[1]
In the 1856 Presidential Election, the Democrats ran James Buchanan, a Pennsylvanian who supported the Fugitive Slave Act and the expansion of slavery into Kansas. Buchanan won the popular and electoral vote. In his victory speech he vilified Republicans as a "dangerous" and "geographical" party that had unfairly attacked the South.[2] In early 1857, on the advice of his friend Supreme Court Justice Catron, Buchanan convinced Justice Grier of Pennsylvania to support the Dred Scott Decision thereby allowing slavery in the U. S. Territories.[3] Buchanan worked to stop anti-slavery agitation in the North during his administration. Buchanan divided the Democratic Party and infuriated Republicans and Northerners in general. His incompetence set the stage for our Civil War, and some historians have placed him in the pantheon of worst U. S. Presidents.

On 25 August 2022, President Biden, supposedly a great unifier for the country, called Republicans “semi-fascists.” He did not define that term. Is semi-fascist like being semi-pregnant? Democrats have been slinging the term “fascist” at Republicans since 1964.[4] However, Biden’s angry demeanor, jabbing finger, and almost palpable vitriol against those who disagree with his Socialist/Marxist agenda are reminiscent of the unifying fascist leaders in Italy, Spain, and Germany in the 1920s and 1930s. Biden’s slander, like Buchanan’s, is encouraging, indeed creating, the same socio-political schism that overwhelmed America in 1860-61. For Southern Democrats it was “my way or the highway” in the spring of 1861. Today, Biden’s cronies and media propagandists in blue states and blue cities across the country are expressing the same philosophy against Americans who dare contradict them.
California Governor Gavin Newsom now has television ads accusing Florida Governor Ron Desantis of banning books, restricting speech, making it harder to vote, and criminalizing women and doctors.[5] A big stick to flog Desantis, but a carrot to Floridians from a very caring Newsom: “I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight — or join us in California, where we still believe in freedom: Freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love. Don’t let them take your freedom.”[6] If all of this is true, why are Californians leaving for Texas, Florida, and other red states?
New York Governor Kathy Hochul despises Desantis and, apparently, Floridians too. At a Holocaust-education bill-signing on 10 August, she thanked the state’s 1.77 million Jews for “calling New York home. Don’t go … to another state. Florida is overrated. I shouldn’t say this but look at the governor. It starts at the top down.”[7] And she minces no words with the 5.4 million Republicans in her state, “Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK? You are not New Yorkers.”[8] If these comments were made by a Republican or conservative Hochul, Newsom, and the Legacy Media propagandists would be screaming “hate speech” from the rafters.
Self-righteous and angry Florida Gubernatorial Candidate Charlie Crist told Florida voters recently, “Those who support [DeSantis] should stay with him and vote for him and I don’t want your vote. If you have that hate in your heart, keep it there. I want the vote of the people of Florida who care about our state, good Democrats, good Independents, good Republicans. Unify with this ticket. Unify with Val Demmings and Charlie Crist. Unify with us. Those who are haters, you’re gonna go off in your own world. And you better get right.”[9]
On 10 August, Liberal New York City Mayor, Eric Adams, called Texas Governor Greg Abbott an “anti-American” governor for sending illegal immigrants to his sanctuary city.[10] I do not remember Mayors DeBlasio or Adams complaining when illegal immigrants were being flown into Westchester County, New York, and other areas of the country by the Biden Misadministration in the dark of night. Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser fears that illegal immigrants are being “tricked into nationwide bus trips when their final destinations are places all over the United States of America.”[11] Apparently, flying them all over the country in the dark of night is OK, nationwide bus trips are not.
And of course, the Legacy Media – Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and some on Fox – all support this dangerous rhetoric while describing everyone who disagrees with the Socialist/Marxist takeover of America as fascist. This is called projection. In other words, if I am a wife beating, tax evading, drug abuser running for political office, I deny all while claiming my opponent is all those things. This has been, and still is, the modus operandi of Socialist/Marxists from Lenin to Stalin to Mussolini to Hitler to Mao to Castro, Maduro, and now Biden. Trump supporters are a “cult,” Republicans are authoritarians, right-wing extremists who deny the validity of the 2020 presidential election, a threat to democracy, and intent on overthrowing the government.
Americans are being slandered and libeled by the projection lies of that same government, its agencies, and a propagandist media. These are the same people who created the Russia Gate Hoax, the Impeachment Hoax, the Hunter Biden laptop cover-up, ignored the Federal law that prohibits protesting in front of Supreme Court Justice’s homes and found no reason to condemn a man who was in front of Justice Kavanagh’s home and prepared to assassinate him. These left-wing extremists have proclaimed parents who disagreed with their school board as “domestic terrorists,” advocate teaching sex in all its forms to children 5 through 9 years-old, supported the violence of ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter. They are the same fanatics who believe that if the U.S. outlaws gas operated vehicles and embraces wind and solar energy exclusively that we will preclude global climate change as if the rest of the polluting world did not exist. They are the same lunatics who believe gender is decision rather than a biological fact. These are the Socialist/Marxist extremists who, like the fascists and Bolsheviks of the last century, will destroy anyone and anything that stands in the way of a Totalitarian States of America.
